  • I am very limited on my time for a document which needs to be proofread. Can I still submit it?
Yes absolutely. Documents can be proofread within 72 hours.
  • Do I need to have a specific number of lessons to be ready for the IELTS test?
No, your progress depends on a variety of factors, such as how strong your reading and listening skills are at the time of taking lessons, how easy or challenging it is to improve in a particular skill, what your vocabulary knowledge is like for both writing and speaking, among other aspects.
  • How long will it take me to improve my score?
This depends on whether you are familiar with IELTS, and how you are performing in all skills at the time of taking lessons. It also depends on how you respond to certain skills – you may find reading easy to develop, but struggle with speaking. Therefore, your reading skills may improve a little faster than your speaking skills, which will take that bit more work to develop.
  • Do I need to have any prior knowledge before taking tutoring sessions?
No. I will explain everything and you will become familiar with the test very quickly.
  • Will I need a textbook?
No. I have everything you need.
  • I am in Vancouver but not close to the Downtown area. Can I take my lessons online?
Yes. You can still take online lessons even if you are in Vancouver.
  • Can I do online lessons through my smartphone?
As it is rather challenging to screen share, particularly a whiteboard, when using a phone, online lessons must be taken through a tablet, iPad, or a computer.
  • I want to take lessons in-person in Vancouver. Who decides where the lessons take place?
When you book your lesson, I will personally reach out to you and we will have a mutual agreement on where the lesson takes place.
  • Who can attend the IELTS workshops?
Absolutely anybody is welcome to attend.
  • Is it possible for me to reach Band 9 in some of my IELTS skills?
It is absolutely possible. I have had many students who went on to achieve Band 9, 8.5, and 8 in some skills, and a number of these students came to me for a very short period of time.
  • How many lessons per week should I take?
I recommend a minimum of two lessons a week.
